Maryland Auto Accident Occurs When Vehicles Crosses Center Line

Maryland State Police reported a recent collision in the Darlington area. The auto accident occurred on a Thursday and resulted in one person being seriously injured. The road was closed for approximately two hours in the aftermath of the crash.

According to the results of an early investigation, a dump truck apparently veered across the double yellow line of traffic. In doing so, the truck is said to have crashed into a car in the other lane. Maryland State Police and rescue workers responded to the scene.

A person whose identity has not been released to the public was traveling in the car. A Medevac helicopter was used to immediately transport the person to a Maryland shock trauma unit for emergency care. The extent of the person's injuries was not made public. An investigative team remained at the scene when the road was reopened at approximately 6 p.m. that evening.

No further details have been given regarding the victim's condition or whether the driver of the dump truck will face any charges. In a similar auto accident where a Maryland driver has crossed over the marked lines of traffic and has then caused injury to another motorist, the injured party would be able to file a legal claim in order to seek compensation for damages. A legal professional can offer guidance, support and direction when filing such a claim. Damages might include, but are not limited to, pain and suffering, medical bills incurred from treatment of injuries, and lost wages due to an injured victim's inability to return to his or her workplace after an accident.
