Five people were killed over the weekend, including two children. The auto accident occurred at a red light when another driver crashed into a family's vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle suffered critical injuries and was treated at a Maryland hospital.
The accident occurred on a recent Friday night while a family was on their way home from Home Depot. According to reports, the driver of a Mercedes rear-ended the family's vehicle while they were stopped at a red light. The Mercedes apparently ended up in flames and the occupants were observed crawling out of the vehicle. A passenger in the Mercedes reportedly died.
The driver of the Mercedes was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, and the driver of the Acura was transported to the hospital in guarded condition. Authorities believe that the weather and speed may have been contributing factors. Both of the deceased women in the Acura left behind children, and one of them is a mother of eight. A page was created to help raise $20,000 for the children of the deceased mothers.
The fatal auto accident has left a family without their loved ones and children without their mothers. While nothing can bring the deceased back to life, the family could have legal options such as filing wrongful death claims against the driver of the Mercedes. The injured driver of the Acura may also have similar rights under our personal injury laws to recover medical expenses and lost wages.
