Man Dies from Injuries After Maryland Car Accident

|

A car accident can be caused by a variety of reasons. However, most of the time an auto accidentis the result of driver error. This appears to be the case in a recent Maryland auto accident in which a 28-year-old man has died.

The accident happened on a recent Thursday afternoon in early December. Authorities conducted a preliminary investigation and determined that the accident occurred when a male driver of a Dodge truck was headed in the southbound direction. They also determined that the driver of a Ford truck that was headed in the northbound direction crossed into the southbound lane in an attempt to make a U-turn. Authorities believe it was at that point when the driver of the Dodge slammed into the back of the Ford. The impact caused both of the trucks to go off to the side of the road.

The driver of the Dodge truck was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The driver of the Ford and an occupant in the vehicle were transported to the hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. Police stated that the driver of the Ford failed to yield and that they believe that failure played a major role in the collision.

Unfortunately, the negligent actions of one driver can lead to danger for others that share the roadway. As a result of this particular auto accident, the family of the deceased man may be looking at the legal options they now have. The family members could have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the Ford truck if they feel that his negligent act led to the death of their loved one. A successful claim may result in compensation being awarded by the Maryland civil court system.
