Maryland Man's Condition Unknown After Personal Injury in Crash

In the early morning hours of a recent Tuesday, a car accident occurred in Maryland that involved two pedestrians. The motorist behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time is said to have stayed at the scene of the accident in order to cooperate with preliminary investigations. Sadly, one person suffered personal injury that later resulted in a fatality.

The two pedestrians, a woman and a man, were reportedly attempting to cross the street when a car hit them. The 56-year-old woman was transported to a shock trauma unit. She later succumbed to her injuries.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, but no information has been provided about his condition. An official investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Police have since stated that the area where the pedestrians were when the car allegedly struck them was not well-lit.

When a loved one suffers a personal injury that he or she does not survive in a car accident, an immediate family member sometimes chooses to file a legal claim on his or her behalf in court. A Maryland resident considering filing such a claim would typically contact an experienced attorney in the area to begin the process. Though one might not be thinking of litigation in the midst of one's grief, and a compensatory award can never replace the loss of human life, it might comfort a family to know that such compensation could help alleviate some of the costs often incurred in the aftermath of a fatal accident.
