Maryland Auto Accident Injures Three

Posted By William R. Hall, ESQ || 13-Feb-2015

Certain negligent driving behaviors and bad driving conditions can lead to car accidents. A catastrophic auto accident has left three people seriously injured. Maryland authorities believe that one of the drivers was also speeding.

The crash happened in Anne Arundel County on a recent Tuesday morning. Authorities arrived at the scene of the accident and conducted a preliminary investigation. Upon the initial investigation, investigators say that the driver of a sedan was headed in the southbound direction but was going over the posted speed limit. The motorist apparently drove over some ice and then was unable to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a van that was being driven by a 56-year-old woman.

A teenage occupant, who was inside the sedan, suffered injuries considered to be life-threatening and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. In addition, both of the drivers were taken to a medical facility for serious injuries. No other information about this matter was reported.

An auto accident is typically traumatic for Maryland victims. In addition to emotional trauma, victims may face financial burdens as a result of lost wages and medical expenses. The victims who were seriously injured retain the right to seek financial compensation through personal injury claims against the driver of the sedan. Successful claims often result in victims being awarded compensation for their injuries and reimbursement of other expenses, if it is found that the other party was responsible for the crash and the injuries that resulted.
