Investigation Continues in Maryland Auto Accident

According to recent reports, an investigation remains ongoing in the aftermath of a collision in Maryland. The auto accident involved one vehicle. Several people are said to have suffered injuries in the crash.

A man from Aberdeen was reportedly behind the wheel of the vehicle involved in the recent accident. Information provided indicates that the man suddenly lost control of his steering near an intersection on the road. A police sergeant stated that after losing steering control, the man's vehicle smashed into a guardrail and then struck a utility pole at the intersection.

The driver of the vehicle suffered injury and was taken to a Bel Air medical center for treatment. Two passengers were traveling with the man and each had to be extricated from the vehicle. They were then airlifted to a shock trauma center. Both were listed in critical condition. The names of the injured passengers were not released to the public.

The question of what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle remains. State police say that they are continuing to investigate the events leading up to the crash. In Maryland, a person who has suffered personal injury in an auto accident that is then determined to have been caused by the negligent or reckless actions of another person may seek a judgment for monetary damages by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court. A compensatory award offered in a successfully litigated case could be used to help pay medical bills or other costs incurred in connection with the accident.
